Three killed in clashes with police in Bogura

At least three persons were killed and many others injured in separate clashes in Bogura today.
A man was shot dead as police opened fire on protesters in Dupchanchia upazila around 11:00am.
Bullet-hit Manirul Islam, 24, was brought dead at Dupchanchia Upazila Health Complex, said Shamsunnaher, upazila health and family planning officer.
Local sources said police opened fired when protesters attacked Dupchanchia Police Station.
The injured were rushed to the upazila health complex, Shamsunnahar said.
Two persons were brought dead to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College in Bogura.
“It seems they died of a gunshot wound. But we could not confirm it,” Abdul Wadud, deputy director of the hospital, told The Daily Star.
At least 32 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, he said.
He could not immediately say about the identity of the deceased and the location of the clash.
