Sharad Pawar’s faction launches campaign focused on women’s safety, inflation

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Sharad Pawar has kicked off its “Haq Mangtoy Maharashtra” (Maharashtra Demands Rights) campaign, highlighting issues like women’s safety, inflation, and other concerns ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
The campaign song, titled Haq Mangtoy Maharashtra, delivered an anti-government message and criticised the current state administration.
To further engage voters, the party also released a video addressing topics such as unemployment, inflation, women’s safety, and farmer issues. NCP state president Jayant Patil said the party plans to distribute a “chargesheet” door-to-door, detailing the government’s alleged failures.
Patil stressed that the current administration has tarnished Maharashtra’s legacy, and the state is now demanding its rights back.
In a related effort, the NCP (Sharad Pawar) held a jagran on the first day of Navratri to raise awareness about the increasing cases of sexual harassment involving minors.
The protest spotlighted incidents such as the Bandlapur case and recent reports from Pune where two minors were sexually assaulted by a school van driver. The party aims to bring attention to these safety concerns and call for government action.
